We are pleased to announce that our PhD student, Isik Sarihan's project "The Internalist-Intentionalist Research Program" was awarded a year of funding by the Swiss Sciex-NMS-Ch program. The project will be run at the University of Fribourg, under the supervision of Gianfranco Soldati. Congratulations to Isik and good luck with his research!

Welcome to our new Department Assistant, Zsófi Jeney-Domingues! Zsófi will start on 1 September, please feel free to contact her via email and/or in person in her office, 415.

Gábor Betegh is leaving CEU to become the next Laurence Professor in Ancient Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. Gábor will retain an affiliation with CEU and will hopefully come back every year to teach a short course. Gábor has been at CEU since 2001 and has been head of department in the last four years. As all of us who worked and studied with him know, he is not only a brilliant philosopher, but also the nicest colleague and teacher. Congratulations to Gábor for this outstanding achievement, and we will all miss you!

We are pleased to announce that our recent alumna, Maria Alina Asavei has been appointed to the position of Lecturer at the Institute of International Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, Prague. Congratulations, Alina!

The Department of Philosophy is pleased to announce three new appointments: Emma Bullock, Philip Goff and Maria Kronfeldner will become faculty members from August 1, 2014.

Our fresh PhD graduate Anna Réz joins the department from September with a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship supported by the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund. Anna's project is called "Aspects of Responsibility". Congratulations and welcome to Anna!

This academic year, five PhD students and 14 MA students graduated from CEU's Department of Philosophy. Each of these degrees represents a story of achievement and commitment. Congratulations to all of them!
