We are thrilled to announce that our alumna Nevim Borçin's (PhD 2023) project, Ethical Methodology in Aristotle's Eudemian Ethics, has been awarded the ESPRIT grant by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF Österreichischer Wissenschaftsfonds). Starting in 2025, she will hold this fellowship at the University of Vienna over the next three years in collaboration with Prof. George Karamanolis.
Our former MA student Pranav Ambardekar successfully defends his PhD thesis at Ohio State University
Our alumnus, Pranav Ambardekar (MA 2018), recently graduated from the PhD program at Ohio State philosophy. He defended his dissertation entitled "The Epistemology of Reflection" under the supervision of Declan Smithies, and with Hilary Kornblith, Tristram McPherson, and Abraham Roth as committee members. Congratulations, Dr. Ambardekar!
Starting this fall, he will be Assistant Professor of Philosophy & Critical Thinking at FLAME University in Pune, India.
Olesya Bondarenko (MA 2017) successfully defended her PhD dissertation titled "Tempering the Ambition of Social Science Genomics: Causation, Explanation, and Evidence for Policy" on 12 January 2024 at the University of Cambridge. Congratulations, Dr. Bondarenko!
Mykola Bakaiev (MA 2019) successfully defended his PhD thesis "Explanation and Understanding in Postanalytic Philosophy of History" on 22nd January at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. Congratulations, Dr. Bakaiev!

Michele Luchetti (PhD 2020), currently a visiting postdoctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin, was granted an ERC Preparative Fellowship at the University of Bielefeld. Michele will join the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies of Science in April 2024 to develop an ERC starting grant application with the title "Towards a History and Philosophy of Performativity in Medical Research, Education and Practice."
Rojin Mazouji (MA 2021), who is currently a PhD student at the University of California, Riverside, won a place in the Doctoral Fellowship Programme of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, with a project on "Re-reading German Idealists: Liberating Insights for Women". The programme supports doctoral candidates from all areas of research who are carrying out their doctoral studies at an Austrian university. Rojin will be based at the University of Vienna.
James Hutton (MA 2014) received an Assistant Professorship of Ethics & Philosophy of Technology at TU Delft.
Valentina Martinis (PhD 2023) received a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship in the research project "MIND - The British Sources of Philosophy of Mind 1888-1949" based at the Centre de recherches phénoménologiques, in the University of Lieges.
Damian Aleksiev (PhD 2021) recently co-organised a workshop on "Grounding, fundamentality, and their epistemology" at the University of Vienna.
