
Our alumnus, Anton Dolmatov (MA 2022), was awarded the 2026 William James Prize.
The Eastern Division awards the William James Prize to the best paper in the area of American philosophy that is both (a) written by a philosopher who received their PhD within five years of the beginning of the calendar year in which the paper is submitted, or is a graduate student, and (b) accepted for inclusion in the Eastern Division program by the program committee through the normal process of anonymous-reviewing.

Anton Dolmatov is a PhD student in philosophy at UW–Madison. His main research interests are in applied ethics and political philosophy, with a particular interest in questions related to migration. His side interests include ethics of war and intimate relationships. He previously completed graduate studies at Rice University in Houston and at CEU in Vienna. Anton is an active member of the APA Graduate Student Council.
