Three of our students receive CEU's Academic Achievement Awards!

We are extremely proud to announce that this year three of our students, Orsolya Reich, David Bitter, and Anton Markoč have been awarded the Academic Achievement Award.

Anton received the Academic Achievement Award for First-Year Doctoral Students, while Orsolya and David received Awards for Advanced Doctoral Students.

Simon Rippon has joined our department as an Assistant Professor

The Philosophy Department is delighted to welcome Simon Rippon who joined CEU as an Assistant Professor in December 2012.

Simon received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Harvard University, and holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Theology from Oxford. He is interested in applying metaethical theory to practical ethical issues, and has particular research interests in the treatment/enhancement distinction, fairness in organ donation, the nature of reasons, moral disagreement, the nature of moral expertise and the question of how people come to have reasons to do things.
