I work in the philosophy of mind (particularly emotion), value theory, epistemology, and cognitive science.
My research focuses mostly on the epistemic value of affective states. I have worked on the role of anxiety in our inclinations to doubt our beliefs, double-check, and inquire further, and on the role of experiences of hope in guiding future-directed imagination and practical reasoning in a boundedly rational way.
Before joining CEU and the Knowledge in Crisis Project, I was a Swiss National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Researcher at the City University of New York Graduate Center, and at the University of Toronto. I completed my PhD in Philosophy at the University of Geneva (Swiss Center for Affective Sciences) in 2021.
