Michael Griffin is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy. His main area of research interest is 17th-century philosophy. His recent focus has been on the metaphysics of modality in Leibniz, Descartes and Spinoza, with attention to its relation to their natural theology. He is interested in the connection between historical and contemporary discussions of the same issues.
