Anna Réz (PhD 2013)

Anna Réz pursued her undergraduate studies at Eötvös Loránd University between 2003 and 2008, studying philosophy and aesthetics. She defended her doctoral thesis „Responsibility as Attributability: Control, Blame, Fairness” at CEU in 2013.

From 2014 she was a postgraduate researcher at CEU, till she became appointed as an assistant professor at Eötvös Loránd University in 2015. This is her permanent position since then, doing research and teaching mainly in the areas of moral and social philosophy.

Her first book, Consumed with Guilt („Mardos”) was published in 2022. This collection of philosophical essays on contemporary forms of guilt and shame became widely read and much discussed among the wider public.
